It was a day of relief and refreshment last Tuesday. Brian and Jeany and their frind Bryce from USA wanted to go on one day hike. So, Brian asked me if I was available to guide them to Australian Camp which is an hour drive and couple hours of walk. I made myself available and joined the group.
We drove to Kande and then started our hike. In the beginning we climbed up through a small village and then through the jungle for some time. The hike was pleasant because it was not that hot since it is winter.
We enjoyed the chirping of the birds along the way. We were faster than the average hikers. It took us one hour and eight minute to reach Australian Camp. First, we went to the view point where there were few tents pitched. From there we could view Annapurna south, Annapurna 1, Himchuli and Machha Puchhre( fish tail) peak. The day was clear. So the view was breath taking. We took few pictures and enjoyed the cup of  tea at the guest house there, chatted with a girl from Australia. We felt like staying there but because of the lack of time we headed back to Kande to the road. By then it was almost dust. Then we drove back to Pokhara about 6 O'clock.
Even though it was a short hike, I felt so much refreshed. The next morning was different other morning. It was so fresh feeling.

Australian Camp is a destination close to Pokhara, For a day hike it is the best place . More than that if you could spend a night there we will enjoy the magnificent sunset and the sunrise the next morning. It is very famous bird watching spot. Bird watchers spend weeks there. Two years ago I met a group of bird watchers. They said that out of 9 eagle species 7 are found there. They don't realise how fast their days pass. It is a must visit place. It is an open space surrounded by jungle with a very good view point from where you can view not only Annapurna and Machhapuchhre but also, Lamjung HImal and Monasalu Himal and farther more. Extra tip, you don't need permit to go to Australian Camp.
